What is an Advisor? Is this the same as an agent?
We call our agents Advisors because they're so much more than just agents. We emphasize the need to advise clients through the decision-making process. Advisors take time to build relationships by listening to client needs and providing guidance and confident recommendations.
Am I a captive agent?
No, you are not a captive advisor or agent. However, you cannot use leads provided by EverQuote AI to sell outside insurance products.
What are indicators of success?
We're looking for advisors who have a genuine desire to help people find the right insurance product to protect what's important to them - their families, their assets and their future. Optimism and a go-getter attitude combined with a strong work ethic and willingness to be coached are common traits in successful advisors.
Licensure & Qualifications
Why do I need 5+ state licenses?
In order to provide you with a steady stream of customers who are highly likely to invest in an insurance policy, we advertise all across the United States. Having licenses in five or more states increases the likelihood that you’ll be matched with an interested client when you're logged in.
Am I responsible for my additional license expenses?
Yes, you are responsible for any expenses related to your licenses. We only recommend multiple licenses as an effective means of maximizing your opportunity.
Do I need my own E&O insurance?
Yes. All 1099 advisors must maintain their own E&O (errors & omissions) insurance policies. We require a minimum of $1 million in coverage, and that you add EverQuote as an "additionally insured" entity on your policy.
Products
What insurance product(s) will I sell?
We offer our clients a variety of options, including whole and term life insurance products.
Will you be adding additional insurance products?
Yes. We will expand our catalog of insurance products as we grow. We aim to provide competitive, quality insurance products for a wide variety of clients.
Will I be able to contact clients I have sold to cross-sell future products?
Yes, you will be able to upsell or cross-sell additional products to your clients, as long as the products are offered through EverQuote AI.
Will I take payments over the phone?
Advisors input payment information into the application on the client's behalf.
Training & Support
What is the training for this role and product?
New advisors will join their hire class for a virtual, two day intensive training session. Our dedicated staff of team leaders and coaches will be on-hand to provide additional assistance as you ramp up.
What do I do if I have technical issues during the workday? Is there technical support?
Yes, we have an on-call team to support any of your technical needs.
Work Environment
Is this position remote?
Yes, as long as you have a private place to work, stable internet connection and the appropriate hardware, you can work anywhere.
What are the hours of operation?
EverQuote AI is open for business Monday - Friday from 9 AM - 9 PM EST, and Saturdays from 10 AM - 2 PM EST.
How many hours per week may I work?
You are free to set your own schedule. We ask for a commitment of 30 hours per week in order to provide you with the best chance of success.
Can I take inbound or outbound calls after hours?
You can make outbound calls outside standard work hours, but no inbound calls will be provided.
Compensation
Do I get residuals?
No, we pay a flat commission bonus per policy sale.
Are there referral bonuses for identifying additional sales advisors?
Yes, we have a referral program. For each advisor you refer and we hire, we’ll give you a total referral bonus of $750. The bonus is paid out in two installments: $250 on the referral's 30th day of active status and an additional $500 on the 90th day of active status.
What is the payment schedule?
We pay out commissions on a weekly basis via direct deposit. Commissions are processed on Thursdays for payout on Friday.
How do chargebacks work? What is the chargeback lookback period/calculation?
There is a 12 month chargeback window. Chargebacks are pro-rated to the time a policy lapses. For example, if a policy lapses after 9 months, you’d be charged back 25% of the commission earned on that policy.
